Jackie & Meeko

This morning Meeko was sitting on the stairs, waiting for me to come in. I let Jackie outside to do his business. Meeko then moved to his post on the counter. He was knocking cards and pictures down left and right! I fed Meeko and Jackie was staring at me, waiting for me to say those magic words. As soon as I did, he got right to his happy bouncy dance! It was nice and cool outside this morning, so we went for a longer walk than we have been. When we got back, Jackie worked on his breakfast for me. This afternoon was just gorgeous outside. Jackie and I went out in the backyard to play. I brought out the remainder of his frozen snack from the other day. He worked on that for a bit in between walking around and checking out noises. I tried to get him to play fetch or frisbee, but he was more interested in his snack. Later, he picked up a big stick in the yard and played with that. He had a blast playing "keep away"! He'd run circles around me, making sure I couldn't get the stick unless he wanted me to. This evening Jackie went out for a quick potty break. He came in and I got Meeko his dinner. I cleaned out Meeko's box quick, then decided to take Jackie for another walk. It was nice out this evening and he was more than happy to go!

ZZ, Bradford, Heighty & the gang

This morning I could hear the pups racing around the yard to see who was here. I got everyone their breakfast. Heighty and Bradford zoomed inside the door as I was going in to get them some fresh water. I guess they wanted to help! Bradford was bouncing up next to me almost as high as the counter! Heighty came right back outside with me, but I had to go fetch Bradford. He rolled over and made himself as heavy as he could! Haha! He finally went out and joined the others in eating their food.

Flax & Booty

Flax had a comfortable night and a gorgeous morning outside. It was nice and cool today with a great breeze. He was lounging on the front porch as I pulled up. He wandered over to my car to greet me. I stopped to say hi to him for a little bit. Then I headed in to feed the fishies and get the boys their breakfast. Booty was in the garage waiting for me. He was such a talker this morning! He meowed and purred and weaved around my legs as I walked. He followed me everywhere this morning. I got him his dry food and a new can of food. He didn't know what to start with first! He nibbled on some dry, then took a few bites of rhe canned and back again. I went to sit with Flax a bit. He was napping on the patio. Then, he wandered off to go explore a bit. This evening Flax was lounging in his usual spot. He had a gorgeous day out today, nice and cool for him. He came over and started on his supper right away when I got it ready. Booty followed me to check and make sure he had enough for the evening as well. I had put some of Flax's treats in my back pocket to spread around for him before I left. I sat in the driveway while Flax was eating and Booty came to sit with me for attention. He rolled around next to me. Then, he would bite at the treats sticking out of my pocket once in awhile. I thought that was funny. He nibbles on Flax's food and apparently likes the smell of his treats. He must think he's a dog too! Flax came to sit with me a bit, so Booty kept his distance. Flax got up and wandered around, then he found the treats too! So, he got one early and I gave him the rest before I left.

Murdy & Charlie

This morning both kitties came running to me from the living room. They both were super lovey today. Charlie wove around my legs and Murdy hopped up on the counter when I got in the kitchen. Murdy was enjoying some chin scratches and rubbed his face in my hands. I got Charlie a new can of food. Murdy perked up when he heard the can open. Sorry buddy! I let Charlie in his room to eat that while I cleaned up a bit. He purrs the whole time he eats that! Murdy followed me around for a few more chin scratches before Charlie came back out. Charlie and I played a bit with his toy. At one point, he hopped up on the chair behind me and leapt onto my shoulders! He purred and made sure to check out my hair. He's so silly. When he got down, he squeezed his head between my side and my arm to snuggle in with me. Murdy had made himself comfortable sitting in the sunny window sill in the kitchen. Charlie hopped up by him just before I left. This evening the boys came to greet me at the door. Murdy got his second dose of medication for the day, then Charlie went to go eat his yummy food. Murdy sat on the counter while I scratched his chin and rubbed his face and ears for awhile. He was loving that up! When he had enough I went to see if Charlie was finished. He and I played with his toy some more. Tonight he thought being on my shoulder was the coolest thing! He kept jumping up on my back and would rub his face against my head. Silly kitty. Murdy had found a spot of sunshine coming through in the entryway and sat in it the rest of the time. He just watched us while he basked in the warmth.

Shelby, Baby & the kitties

This morning I let Shelby do her thing outside while I tended to the pet stuff. Coco came in as Shelby was going out. She kept meowing and talking to me. I cleaned out the litter box and refilled their water tank. When I came out, Shim and Bitty were both sitting in the living room watching me. It was kind of funny! I checked on Baby next and made sure he had enough food and water. He was busy doing his thing... haha! Bitty came outside with me when I went to visit with Shelby. A bird came and landed on the fence. That had Bitty's full attention! He squatted down and watched it's every move. Shelby had wandered over and found a good spot to relax in the grass. She would come by me for some pets, then go lay down again. Miss Shelby wandered up to say hi when I got there tonight. It was so nice out this evening, so she got to go spend the whole time outside. Bitty couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to go in or out. He came in when I let Shelby outside. Then, when I went out I could hear him meowing. I opened the door and he just stood there and looked out the door. Little stinker! So, I closed it and he started meowing again. This time, he finally cam out with us! Shelby had fun talking as she rolled around on her back in the grass. She was the bird hunter tonight. A Blue Jay landed on the fence, so she walked slowly over to it until it flew away. Then, Shelby was looking at something in the grass and jumping back, so I went to see what it was. It was a bat!! I got her away from it right away. I tried to flip it back over (it was laying on its back) so maybe it could get away. But it just sat there and hissed and made its clicky sounds. I got Shelby and Bitty back inside the house so no one could mess with it. Hopefully it'll be gone by morning!

Harvey & King

This morning I let both boys out when I arrived. King sure has grown since the last time I saw him! I let them both outside while I got their breakfast ready. Harvey wanted to eat King's food, so I put him inside to eat to separate them. King was too interested in playing, so I helped him focus on finishing his breakfast. I grabbed small handfuls of his food and he gulped them down until he finished it all. Then it was playtime! I let Harvey come back out and he made sure that King didn't leave and scraps behind. King found a log in the yard and brought it over to me, wanting to play fetch. That was a little too big haha! I found his frisbee in the yard and we played with that for awhile. He would fake me out like he was going to bring it back to me, then would take off! Harvey sat over by me for some attention before he went to explore. King decided to follow him around. Then, the boys had themselves a wrestling match. I made them stop after awhile since they had enough time doing that. Haha! King found another large stick in the yard and was prancing around with that. He made me laugh because he kept getting stuck on chairs and would have to figure out how to turn it to get through.

Hudson, Zel, Gabbie, Sparkles & Blackie

This morning was nice and cool outside. I let Blackie out and he was bouncing around excitedly. The three little pups went outside before breakfast. They each stood nicely for me, while I dried their paws off. Sparkles was in the living room and got a few pets before the dogs started playing. Hudson was being silly and kept running and jumping up into my lap. Gabbie came around behind me and stuck her little tongue out to give me quick little kisses on my cheek. They all went back out to play and enjoy the cool morning. This evening Blackie was in his house as usual. He came out and went to the back to wait for me to bring the other pups outside. He sat with me for a few pets before I took the pups in for dinner. Gabbie was in play mode, so she didn't start eating right away. So, I had to keep a close eye on Mr. Hudson. It wasn't long before they were finished, so we went back out by Blackie. They will be so happy to see mom and dad!

ZZ, Bradford, Heighty & the gang

Zz and Bradford went zooming into the house when I arrived. I spread out the food into five bowls or piles for them to eat. I got those two back outside, then went to get them some fresh water. Bradford and Sugar werwe're very excited to see me. They were bouncing up at me or circling me for a bit. When everyone settled down, they all picked a spot to eat. It wasn't long before everyone was finished up. We heard some fireworks popping in the distance. When it was time, I said goodbye for the night.

Shelby, Baby & the kitties

Miss Shelby came down the hall to greet me when I walked in. I let her outside right away. Coco was sitting in the dining room, grooming herself. I checked to make sure everyone had plenty of food and water. Shim and Bitty were lounging in the bedroom. Shim was sitting in the corner and Bitty was on the bed. I gave Baby some more food for the evening. As I walked out, the kitties had gathered! Coco had followed me down the hall, and Bitty was making his way to the living room. Those two followed me outside, as I went to go see Shelby. She sat with me for some attention in between her exploring the yard. She relaxed in the grass a bit before we headed back in for the night. Bitty came back inside with us, but Coco decided she wanted to stay out.

Murdy & Charlie

This morning Murdy was the first to come see me. Charlie was making his way down the stairs and hopped right over the gate. Charlie was really wanting my attention when I walked in! He stood up on his hind legs as he rubbed up against my leg. He raced up to the counter with Murdy. They both sat there to be pet for a minute. I got out a new can of food for Charlie. Murdy seemed pretty interested when I opened it, and climbed back on the counter to see what I was doing. I let Charlie eat while I cleaned up their box and got them fresh food and water. After he was done, we played in the living room with his chirpy toy. I even got Murdy playing a little with their tunnel. Eventually, he decided to just go eat while Charlie and I played. This evening the kitties followed me around once I got in. Charlie was excited for his dinner and was talking away. Murdy visited with me for a little bit for some attention without his little brother. Then, Murdy went and sat outside the bathroom door while Charlie ate. Charlie sat and cleaned himself for awhile after he ate. He was more lovey dovey tonight and wasn't as interested in playing. Murdy made me laugh when I looked over at him. There was one tiny square of sunlight shining in the front hallway, and he was sitting exactly in it. He just fit!

Jackie & Meeko

This morning, Meeko was up by the front door, ready to say hi. I let Jackie boy outside to do his business. When he came in I got their breakfast ready. Meeko was wandering all over the place. He hopped up by the tv, then was up on the counter, brushing up against the cards. Jackie wasn't too interested in breakfast yet, so I figured we'd get our walk done, and hopefully he would work up his appetite. He was bouncing all over the place again when I got his leash out. He was very excited for our walk! We got a nice long walk in again today. When we got back home, Jackie pulled out his sock toy and we had a game of tug. He kept cheating! He would pull on his end with his mouth, then would use a paw to help him pull. We had fun with that for awhile. Meeko just watched us as he lounged on the table. We took a break from playing so he could eat. I gave Jackie a couple of the good pieces by hand, to get his appetite going. Then, I just sat by his bowl. He started to eat on his own then. He was hungrier than he thought, he was just too worried about playing! We went outside for a last potty break. He grabbed his tennis ball and we messed around with that for a few minutes. He'd shake the ball in his mouth, tossing his head around. Then, he'd stare at me and stick his heiny in the air. He'd bring his ball just out of reach, and dared me to grab it! We had fun. This afternoon was another pretty warm day. I let Jackie out and brought out another frozen snack for him. He wasn't as interested in that today. He ate most of it, so I saved the rest. I think the wind and the sounds of things falling from the trees had him a little agitated. We headed inside and played another game of tug. He got distracted when Meeko was in the kitchen, standing on the counter and pawing at the top cupboards! That was funny to watch him being intrigued by the cat. He took one more potty break then came in and enjoyed a kong snack. This evening Jackie and I headed outside right away. The neighbor kids were out playing with their dogs, so there was running, screaming, barking and all kinds of commotion! That got Jackie all excited. He sat and watched them for a bit, then he raced around too. Meeko really wanted my attention, so he was peeking out at me through the window! Jackie and I came back in so he could eat dinner. This time, he ate all on his own... after I came back from cleaning the litter box of course!

Flax & Booty

This morning Flax was sleeping in the shade on the front patio. He didn't even budge, it was so nice there. He sat up while I walked up to him and gave him a good morning pet. Then, he laid back down. I got their breakfast ready, and Booty was in the garage to help me. He nearly tripped me once as he weaved in and out between my legs as I walked. Little goober! He didn't mind! Haha! He made me laugh when he hopped up on the tractor toy and sat in the seat. I pet him for a little bit, then went to visit with Flax. He sure had picked out a good spot. It was nice and cool, with a great breeze. This evening Flax was sleeping out in the driveway. He sat up and gave me his big booming barks until I came and pet him. I got him his dinner and he wandered over to eat right away. Booty was jumping around my legs in the garage while I was in there.

Hudson, Zel, Gabbie, Sparkles & Blackie

It was nice and cool outside this morning. I let everyone outside when I arrived. Blackie came around to visit me while the three little ones went potty. While we were out, the neighbor dogs came outside. In just a split second, I watched the husky jump up and clear over his fence! That had Hudson, Zel and Gabbie all racing around and worked up. Since it was cool out this morning, the grass was nice and wet. So, we spent a little while cleaning off paws before we headed inside. They ate their breakfast, then we all went back out. Zel had fun rolling around in the yard. The other two were busy exploring and checking everything out. This evening Blackie was sleeping in his little house when I got there. He came out to say hi before I went to see the rest of the kiddos. I let them do their business before supper. Miss Sparkles was out when we all came back inside, wanting some attention while the pooches ate. She wandered off when Hudson came running over to sit with me. The little ones got to play outside for the rest of the time. Blackie made sure to come visit me.

Murdy & Charlie

Today both boys were making their way down the stairs to see me. Not sure if they're supposed to be up there or not... Charlie was instantly attached to my legs, meowing up at me and weaving in and out as I walked. Murdy hopped up on the counter right away, so I gave him his eye ointment. I put Charlie in the bathroom to eat the rest of his can of food. Murdy followed me around this time, while I took care of the rest of their things. I checked to see how Charlie was doing and he was just purring away as he ate. When he finished, it was playtime. He sure loves the chirping feather toy! He was racing, leaping high in the air and doing cartwheels to catch it! He's quite the crazy little guy. Murdy just sat and watched. I'm sure he's not feeling up to his usual self. Charlie would take breaks in between the chasing to hop in my lap and get some attention. Then, he'd get his little heiny wiggling... and pounce! He sure cracked me up today.

Jackie & Meeko

This morning Jackie sat up and watched me curiously. I let him outside for a quick potty break. Meeko came to see me when we got back inside. He hopped up on the table and meowed at me. I gave him a quick few pets, then got breakfast ready for the boys. Meeko hopped right up and worked on his. Jackie kept taking breaks to look at me, making sure I wasn't doing anything fun without him! I gave him some time, then asked if he wanted to take a walk. He perked up and started going crazy when I grabbed the leash! He bounced around and stuck his heiny in the air. He settled down long enough for me to get his collar on, then off we went. We got a nice long walk in this morning. When we got back, I filled up his kong toy for him before I left. This afternoon was pretty warm out already, so Jackie and I just spent some time in the backyard. I got out one of his ice cube snacks for him to work on. He loved it! I moved it into the shade for him and he just laid down and licked away. This evening was still pretty hot out. We will be looking forward to the cooler weather on its way! I let Jackie out potty, then got their dinner ready. Meeko was already pacing on top of the counter and meowing for some attention. I went and cleaned Meeko's box while they worked on supper. Jackie didn't like that I was up there without him! He stood at the gate and whined for me to come back. I hurried, then waited in the kitchen so Jackie would finish his food. We made a little game of it and he ate better for me. When he wasn't interested anymore, we went out for another potty break and came in to play. Jackie and I messed around until it was time for bed. Then, I got him some treats in his kong.

Flax & Booty

This morning I saw Booty sitting in the grass in front of the house. Flax startled me this morning because he was right at the front door, ready to go out! It was much cooler outside than yesterday already. I let him outside while I fed the fish. Flax wandered about the yard for awhile. I headed into the garage to get their breakfast, and little Booty was in there! He meowed at me and followed me everywhere. He sure is a silly little guy! Later, I saw him reaching up to get food from Flax's bowl. Flax saw that too and came to eat his breakfast. This afternoon it started to warm up, so I went to let Flax inside. He was laying in the shade on the front porch when I got there. He wandered around to the back and came in. I got him some more of his treats and spread them around in his area for him. This evening Flax was sleeping when I got there. He sat up, then headed outside. I went to the garage to get them their dinner and Booty came running out from under the truck. He started meowing and came rubbing up against my legs. He followed me everywhere! He almost tried to follow me into the house, but I made sure he didn't. Flax had wandered to the front of the house to sprawl out and relax. It should be a nice cool night for him.

Hudson, Zel, Gabbie, Sparkles & Blackie

This morning Blackie wandered out to go do his exploring, while I headed inside to let the pups out. It was a much cooler morning today. We headed back in after getting paws wiped, to eat their breakfast. Sparkles was sitting in the living room when I let them in, so she hid under the table so as not to get trampled! Hudson sat up next to me after he finished and got some attention. After the girls polished off their dishes, we went out to enjoy the cool morning. Blackie came and nudged my arm to pet him a bit. The three little ones were having fun exploring. Hudson saw a bird fly overhead, so he went to chase it! When it was time, they headed back inside. I gave them each a cookie before I left. This evening was a pretty typical night for us. Blackie met me in the driveway, then I let the littles outside. They came in to eat and Hudson was first to finish as usual. He sat with me for some chest scratches while we waited for the girls. When they finished, I asked if they wanted to go outside. They all started dancing and galloping around the living room. I guess so! They headed out to play the rest of the time. Some crows in a nearby tree got Hudson all worked up.

Sadi & Stormy

This morning I found both girls out on the patio. They were both sprawled out in the sunlight! Sadi was sleeping soundly, so I pet her gently so I wouldn't startle her. She gave me her little meow and got her chin scratched. I walked over to give Stormy a few pets before we headed inside for Sadi's meds. I set Sadi by her bowl afterwards and she got to nibbling on her food. While she was eating, Stormy came and loved on me in the living room. She walked her circles around me and purred away. She finally just laid in front of me and enjoyed her chin scratches. Sadi came back out and sat with us. She, too, had her little motor running the whole time!

Flax & Booty

This morning Flax was snoozing away comfortably on his bed. He sat up when I walked in and gave me a few of his big, deep barks. I walked over to pet him, then went to get breakfast ready for him and Booty. I didn't get to see Booty this morning, so I put his dry and canned food out for him. Flax got up amd went outside for a bit. It was quite muggy out already. He went for a stroll down by the pond, then came back up to lay on the patio. He was panting pretty good in the thick, warm air. So, we headed back inside the cool house. This afternoon I stopped by to give Flax another potty break. He got up and went for a little walk. Then, he laid out in the sunshine. It wasn't long before he was warm again. I went to check and see if Booty was around, but he wasn't. He did like his food though! After awhile, Flax and I headed back in. This evening Flax was up and ready to go outside. He wandered out and did his thing for a bit. I saw Booty sitting out front when I walked up, so I went to say hi. He was attached to my legs immediately! He was happy to get pet for awhile. Flax wandered over by us eventually, but Booty knew he was safe by me so he stayed close. Flax got some attention too. Flax took a break to eat some dinner before we headed back in for the night. It was still very hot out and there is talk of storms for the evening,  so I thought it'd be best if he stayed inside.

Hudson, Zel, Gabbie, Sparkles & Blackie

Today is going to be another very hot day. It was so muggy out yesterday, that I decided not to lock Blackie in for the evening. That way, he could at least go out and cool off a bit. He was sleeping in his house this morning when I arrived. He went to wander around, while I let the other three outside. They did their business, then came in for breakfast. Hudson was being a little booger today! When I wiped their paws off, he wouldn't let the girls inside. He was just trying to play of course. They went back out to play for awhile after they all finished eating. I gave everyone a treat to enjoy outside. This evening Blackie was sleeping in his house again, even on this hot afternoon! I let the little ones out to potty, then we spent most of our time inside. I gave Blackie some fresh water with a bunch of ice cubes to cool him off. Sparkles came out to visit with me tonight. I had Hudson sit with me in the living room while we waited for the girls to finish dinner. Sparkles sat on the opposite side and enjoyed some attention. I was sitting on the floor and miss Gabbie jumped up on the couch behind me. She stood her front feet on top of my head to smell me, then she went from side to side sneaking kisses! That made me laugh. Later, she laid down to chew on the bone and Hudson kept messing with her. Eventually, the pups were excited to get back outside to play.
