Jackson

This evening Jackson was right at the door, ready to come inside... until he saw who was opening it! Haha. He backed up and kept his distance. I went and sat at the edge of the patio and talked to him for a bit. He would come closer to try and sniff at me, but not too close of course! I saw the treats on the counter, so I grabbed some of those and tossed them to him. I wasn't even there for 5 minutes, and he took one from my hand! Then, a couple more. That made me happy. I kept talking to him and tried to get him to come closer. I could tell he was torn about it! He really wanted to, but he was being cautious. His little tail would wag and he'd start coming, but then he would back out. We went inside to see if he would want to eat his dinner for me. I brought his leash inside to see if he would come closer for that. Again, he got very excited, but wasn't quite ready yet. I never try to push, because I like to let them warm up on their own terms. I sat on one end of the couch and he came between the couch and ottomans, and let me pet him! I was a little surprised at that. Then, he sat in the corner of the couch on the floor and just watched me a bit. Later, he went to get a drink and came and sat under the end table next to me. I reached my hand down and he nuzzled his nose under my hand to pet him for awhile. So cute! I think he felt safer if I wasn't watching him. He let me pet him one other time as well, but then he would go back to being a little shy. We played a game with his food and he would eat some kibbles for me. I left his bowl outside with him, in case he wanted to eat later. I let him back outside before I left and made sure hew had plenty of water for the night. He did so well today! I think for sure by tomorrow, he will be ready to be friends.

Eddie & Butler

This afternoon I let the boys out when I got there. Butler did a great big stretch as he came out. They said hi and had fun sniffing at all the other animal smells on me today. I had to tell them to go play! Finally, they ran outside to go have fun. It was beautiful outside today. The boys were quite interested in all the noises they were hearing towards the front of the yard today. They kept running up to the front of the yard to listen closer. Eddie made sure to share his wet whiskers with me after he went in to get a drink. Haha!

Charlie & Murdy

Today I walked in and Murdy came wandering down the hall to see me. Charlie was sitting in the kitchen and hopped up on the table as I walked by. Both kitties were busy sniffing at me to check me out. They waited for me to get their food out for them. Then, they both snacked, while I cleaned their box. When I finished, the kitties joined me in the living room for a little play time. I got out a couple toys for them. Charlie was rolling around being a silly boy. He was more in the playful mood and would pounce and chase after the mouse toy. Murdy sat nearby and watched most of the time. They made me laugh when they were on either side of the ottoman, both doing the heiny wiggle at the same mouse! Haha. I was waiting for them to pounce simultaneously and collide, but that didn't happen. Charlie took breaks to come and got some pets as well.

Sophie & Roxy

Today I didn't see the girls at the gate when I pulled up, but they were on their way to the door as I got inside. They ran in and bounced around, saying their hellos. I got their food, topped off their food bin, then went to sit on the couch with them. They snuggled for a few minutes, but then they both got bored with me. Roxy went to lounge on mom and dad's bed again. I think someone is ready for her people to return! Sophie laid on the floor near their food. They took little naps until I woke them both up again. They sat with me until it was time to head out, then they got their snacks.

Indy & Eisley

This morning Indy was right at the door,  waiting for me. Eisley was right behind him. They were ready for their breakfast! I got it out for them and they both polished their bowls clean. Indy ran out right away when he was done. He was quite interested in a neighborhood dog out there. They were talking back and forth to each other! I got his ball and tried to get him to play again, but it was only me that was doing the fetching. Haha! Later, I got them their cookies. Indy hung around outside for most of the time, but he did come in for some heiny scratches, while I was visiting with Eisley. She was more than happy to sit with me for her pets. This evening, I heard Indy barking as I pulled up. He was doing his dance as I opened the door. Eisley was bouncing around excitedly as she stood by her toy. I got them their dinners right away, and they both ate well. Indy went to play outside for awhile. Miss Eisley hung out with me. I got them fresh water, then sat with her to give her some attention. Indy ran in later on and wanted some heiny scratches. They both were enjoying their neck scratches, and were leaning into it! Haha. Before I left, I got them each their cookies.

Shadow

This morning Shadow was already at the door waiting for me. He was quite interested in all the other animal smells on my jeans this morning! He couldn't get enough sniffs. Haha! I got him some fresh food, and he helped me in the pantry, to get out his little treats. He nibbled on breakfast a bit, while I went to check his box. When I came out, he was sitting on the counter. I gave him some pets there, then we went to the living room. He laid on the floor and snuggled up next to me for awhile. Shadow would occasionally get hungry, and would wander off to eat. This evening, he was on his way from the hall to greet me. He helped me pick out a new can of food from the pantry. It was a pate one this time, which usually he doesn't seem to care for when I get it for him. Well, he sure liked it tonight! He ate all of it! He went to work on eating, while I did my things. When I was done, he was still snacking. Shadow came and sat by me for a little while. He didn't seem interested in playtime this evening. But then, I leaned down close to him and he saw my sweatshirt string dangling. He went crazy! He was so funny. I got his string toy out next and he chased and rolled around with that. Shadow thought he wanted to go home with me tonight and raced into the laundry room when he knew I was going. I had to walk a couple circles to beat him in there! Haha.

Sadi & Stormy

This morning I went to go see Sadi right away. I think Stormy was on her chair under the table, but she must have been snoozing. Sadi was sitting in the food room. She didn't potty on the tile at all this time, but did have a few spots on the floor pad. I soaked those up and then got Sadi ready for her medicine. When I had her in the kitchen for her liquid meds, I was talking to her. That must have woken Stormy up. She gave me a loud meow and came out to see me. She got her medicine as well, before I got their food together. When we were all done, and after they had eaten what they wanted, I took Sadi out to our spot. She enjoyed a long brushing session. Stormy would wander by occasionally for some pets as well.

Hudson, Zel, Gabbie & Blackie

This morning all the kiddos were at the door to greet me. I let them all out quick for a potty break. Gabbie was having a sneezing fit on her way out. Haha! Gabbie and Blackie were the first two ready to come in. Hudson and Zel were busy exploring a little longer. Once they came in, I got them all their breakfast. We went back outside for awhile once they finished. The girls went potty, then did their little dance at the door, ready to go in and warm up. I let them in after a little bit and they snuggled up in their blankie. I got the little ones all tucked in their beds when it was time. This evening, I let everyone out of their beds, and they zoomed to line up at the door. The kiddos were happy to get out and do their business. They barked at me to come in again shorty after, ready for their dinners. Miss Gabbie didn't feel like eating much again this evening. She was more interested in playing and being silly! She stood at the end of the couch and talked to me. The kiddos got to go outside and explore for awhile this evening. Hudson was off in the dark, barking at strange sounds he'd hear. Blackie and the girls roamed around out there tonight as well.

Rusty & Ruby

This morning I let Ruby out and Rusty tagged along for their potty break. I fed them their breakfast and got Rusty his medicine. I checked on the turtles and Salem and made sure they had enough of everything. I had Ruby come out with me to go potty again. I let those two roam around a little, then Ruby wandered in. I let the other kids out for awhile after that. They got their breakfast and got a little play time before I tucked them back in their beds. This afternoon the little ones were all at the gate to say hi. I had Ruby come out with me, but she ran back inside right away. I closed their door and had her come out again. This time, she wandered out and did her business. Rusty got a couple throws of his ball in while we were out. Those two went back in after awhile and went to the front room. This evening, I fed the big kids out in the pasture. They were all lined up at the fence for me. I went in and got Rusty and Ruby their dinners next. They came outside with me afterwards and did their business. We got a little fetch time in, and Ruby wandered around a bit.
