Ladybug, Boomer, Bella & Bo

This morning I let everybody outside right away. It was a beautiful morning out and not quite as hot as the past several days, so I let the puppies play outside a little longer today. When I came back to let them inside I got them their ice cubes and breakfast. Boomer, my little buddy, sat in my lap for awhile. Bo was eating some breakfast and Ladybug munched on some ice cubes. Bella was content on her pillow, gnawing on a little rawhide. This afternoon everyone was happily chasing after golf carts! I gave them their bones to chew on while we were out there. The puppies were having fun rolling around in the yard together! They would each take turns and sort of watch each other. Tonight it was still very nice out. They guarded their yard and barked at some people walking along the path once it was dark out. Bella started barking frantically like I've never heard her do before. I went over where she was to find Boomer pawing at the ground with her watching. I didn't have the light out on the patio because I didn't want to attract all kinds of bugs, so I crouched down to see what they were upset about. It was a huge toad! I tried to get it to hop away into the garden, but Boomer and Bella just followed him. After that we went inside for awhile so they could calm down before bedtime. Ladybug crunched away on her ice cubes, getting them all stuck on her face again! They each took turns chewing on the stuffed bones like good puppies. Boomer curled up on my lap for awhile before I put everyone to bed.

Dakota & Benny

As soon as I let Kota out of her cage we got ready for our morning walk. It was really nice out this morning! We took a nice long one again and it was very quiet outside. There weren't too many dogs out in their backyards like usual. This afternoon after I watered the plants we decided to take another walk since it's not quite as hot out as the past several days! There was a slight breeze that helped. A little dachschund came running out of a garage and wanted to come say hi. We crossed the street right away and he stayed in his yard like a good puppy. They were both very tired when we got back. Kota went right in her kennel and laid down while Benny sprawled out on the tile. Tonight Kota and Benny were anxious to get going on their night walk! Kota was talking to me the whole time. There was a family sitting outside that we passed, and a little boy was walking toward us saying, "Kota! Kota!". I thought maybe he knew Kota, but the mom told me that they had a husky named Kota too! I'm pretty sure he's the one we always see that's doing the husky cry every time we pass their house. There was a little old sheltie out being walked tonight that Benny wasn't too thrilled about! We saw them a second time so I kept Benny close to me and he did very well and didn't even bark. Towards the end of our walk as we passed a corner, I saw a little girl out with her puggle. He wasn't on a leash and was heading toward us, so I scooped Benny up right away. The little girl and her dad both couldn't catch the little guy! I kept walking carrying Benny and he followed us for a bit, while managing to escape his owners!

Zeus, Baxter & Zelda

I didn't see Zelda out in the driveway this morning, so I went right in to let Zeus and Baxter out. Baxter was pretty sleepy again this morning so I had to coax him out from under the bed. He had some breakfast and Zeus followed me around while I watered the plants. When I went out front to water those, Zelda came out and meowed at me. I pet her out front for awhile. She rolled around on the ground and just purred away! Tonight Zelda was laying in the driveway and the boys ran right up to the gate again. I said hi to her for a little while before going to see the boys. Baxter was ready to run right inside, although it wasn't quite as hot out today. Zeus got his ears rubbed for awhile. He let out a big sigh and pushed his head into my hand. They meandered from the back room to the carpeted area in the entryway. Baxter rolled over onto his side and took a nap. When I was leaving, I met the older gentleman that gives the neighborhood dogs their treats! He had his two little yorkies with him. The one little dog was busy giving Zelda kisses while we talked! He left the treats for the boys so they could get them in the morning. He is such a sweet man! He went over to the neighbor dachschund who was waiting patiently outside for his treat next.

Roxie, Ralphi and Rudy

This morning everybody was awake but very quiet when I walked in. I let them all out then fed them their breakfast and gave them some fresh water. Once they were finished I brought their rawhides outside for them. Rudy and I played fetch with one while Ralphi was busy chewing on the other. Roxie chased around with Rudy for a little while, then was trying to share with Ralphi! Ralphi is pretty good at shredding pieces off of the rawhides. When it was time to go I got them all wiped off and gave them their bedtime treats.

"Look mom, I'm sharing!"
