Presley, Callie & Ziggy

This afternoon I came in and Presley barked at me a couple times before running to her corner. I went in to see the little ones after reading the note. I opened the laundry room door and Ziggy and Callie decided to roam around the house. Surprisingly, Presley was the first to go outside, even with me standing there. She was sure to keep an eye on me though! The other two went outside later. Once Presley came back in she went right for her corner. I sat on the floor with a couple treats in hand. Callie had no problem snuggling up to me and even rolled around on the floor for a belly rub! Ziggy ran around and sniffed all over the house. Presley came up to me and took her treat out of my hand, then quickly went back to her bed and watched me. I put the little ones back in their room before I left. For my next visit, I let all three pups outside. The sun had come out, it had stopped raining and even warmed up a little, so we spent most of the time outside! Presley was running around the yard happily. Once in awhile she would zoom over to me, smell my hand then quick run off again. She was trying to look for something up in the trees and would stand up against them. Callie and Ziggy were also exploring. I sat on the cement, and you will never believe it! In no time, Presley was sitting right up against me, getting her back scratched. She would run off to see what Callie was sniffing at, but would come right back. She even gave me lots of kisses on my face! Later we headed inside for their supper. Presley was a little hesitant to eat hers, but I picked up a few kibbles, which she ate from my hand. Then finally she got to working on her dinner. Afterwards, we all sat in the living room and they got more attention. By the end of my second visit, Presley was actually pretty clingy to me! This evening I came in and let all the pups outside right away. Presley was galloping around the yard, then would come over and run a circle around me! She rolled over in the grass and Callie and Ziggy tackled her. They are so funny! We spent most of the time outside since they were having fun! We headed inside and I got them a couple treats, which they all lined up for. Next, I fed the fishies their dinner. Then we all sat in the living room and they all got back scratches! Callie curled up in my lap, with Ziggy on one side and Presley rolled over next to me for a tummy rub! I left the little ones out to roam and told them all goodnight.

Sugar, Buddy, Jimmy & Charlie

This afternoon I let the boys outside to go potty. Sugar ran right for her hiding spot, but eventually came out to join us. The boys ran around the yard for a little bit, searching for critters. Soon, they were ready to come back in to warm up. Jimmy snuggled up with me and Buddy worked on having some lunch. Buddy came over by us and started growling at Jimmy. Then, I heard Charlie in the background growling too! He and Buddy were going back and forth taking turns, it was hilarious! This evening everyone went outside quick and came right back in. The boys took their meds for me, and Sugar enjoyed her potato snack as well. Sugar bounced up and down afterwards, ready for a treat from the jar! Later, Sugar and Jimmy snuggled with me and gave me kisses. Buddy had some dinner, then when he finished the other two had their supper too. I gave them all a few treats and let them stay out to greet daddy later when he gets home!

Ginger, Scout, Tiger & Scotch

Scotch met me at the car today and meowed hello! I gave him a few scratches before heading in to see the pups. They were all at the window looking out at us. Everyone went outside to go potty right away. They said hello to the neighbor dog and ran around with him for a little bit. Soon, the pups were ready to come back inside to warm up. Tiger ran right for the treat cupboard! I opened the door and he helped me pick out a snack for them. After they finished, I gave Ginger her meds. I let Scotch into the garage to come warm up too! Scout came to snuggle up to me and get her back scratched. Tiger watched us and hinted that he was ready for more snacks. Ginger was busy rolling around in her bed! Everyone got a couple more treats before I had to go.

Dakota & Benny

This afternoon Benny did his usual zooming around until I got his leash on. Then he tugged at my socks, "Hurry up and get your shoes on, I'm ready to go!". We got our long walk in today. Kota and Benny were busy sniffing at everything, especially Kota! I had to keep calling her to come along. Benny had fun trying to run after cars that passed by us. When we got home they each had a drink and Kota went in her bed. Benny must have been hungry, because he was stealing kibbles out of Kota's bowl. I put his down before I left so he could have some lunch.

Sugar, Buddy, Jimmy & Charlie

This evening my little buddies both greeted me at the door. Sugar was hiding in her little cave as usual. I let the boys out potty quick. They both came in right away since it was raining. I went and laid on the floor by the bed to talk to little Miss Sugar. She scootched closer to me and let me pet her. Jimmy was helping me and decided to walk around on my back! He kept hopping down to lick my face or ear, then would curl up on my back. Silly boy! Sugar saw Jimmy messing around and crawled back under until dinner time. I got the boy's meds ready and sure enough, there she was bouncing in the kitchen! The boys ate their meds for me without any problems. Afterwards, Sugar was ready to go potty so they all went out again. Back inside, Buddy worked on eating his supper. He must be feeling better! Jimmy cuddled up on the couch with me until it was time for bed.

Dakota & Benny

This afternoon Benny was tugging at my shoelaces when I walked in! I guess he was anxious to get going. He started zooming in circles around the living room while I got Kota out and hooked their leashes on. We took a nice long walk today. It started to sprinkle for a couple minutes as we went along, but luckily didn't turn into anything. Kota and Benny were busy trying to chase after birds ahead of us on the sidewalk! Benny would spot them a ways off, and would get so excited. After we got home, Kota decided to have lunch and almost polished off her bowl. I put Benny's food down after Kota went to bed, since he was trying to reach up into her dish for kibbles!

Maggie & Moe

This morning the girls woke up and came to say hi when I came in. They went outside and hung around out there for a little while. Once they came in, they took turns eating breakfast and the other would sit by me for a back scratch. Moe hopped up in the bean bag chair again and danced around excitedly! Maggie went off into the bedroom, so I went to see what she was up to. She was just curled up in her bed, working on her rawhide. Moe came to try and steal it! We all headed back into the living room. Moe brought me a ball, so we played fetch for awhile until it was time to go.

Maggie & Moe

The girls heard me come to the door and were right there to greet me! I let them go potty right away. They ran around for a few minutes, but it was pretty cold out so they were ready to come back in shortly after. Maggie came and sat by me on the couch, while Moe went back and forth to grab some bites to eat. Moe brought me a couple toys, but didn't want to play fetch. Maggie disappeared off into the bedroom and came out with a rawhide! They snuggled up in their beds to keep warm on this chilly evening. Later, Moe hopped up on top of the bean bag chair and pawed at me. Then, Maggie jumped up too and they played "Queen of the Hill"! Maggie kept scootching Moe off, but Moe would hop right back up. They're so silly!

Dakota & Benny

This afternoon the pups were ready for their walk. I got them hooked up and off we went. It was nice and warm this afternoon, so we took our long route. Kids were getting home from school as we were walking. That kept Kota and Benny busy watching them play. A few kids we passed by commented on how cute they were! Once we got home, they had their drink of water and cooled down.

Buckley, Chloe, Tizzy & JR

This afternoon the pups spent the majority of their time surrounding their favorite tree. They sat around staring up into the branches with their tails wagging a mile a minute! Every so often they would come running up to me for some attention. Buckley hung out with me quite a bit and would bury his head in my leg while I pet him. Then if I stopped, he kept his head down and barked for more! Chloe sat under the tree the most. Tizzy and JR would run back and forth all over the place. I had everyone come in a few minutes early to cool down and have some water. They settled down and snuggled up on the couch with me. Suddenly, I heard a tiny meow! I meowed back to find out where Bootsie was. It sounded like a "Help, I'm locked in!" kind of meow. I finally found him upstairs with the door closed. Once I opened it, the pups all surrounded him and gave him little kisses. He let me pet him for quite awhile! He followed us downstairs and into the kitchen to get the peanut butter snacks. Bootsie even gave me a couple licks on my leg, I think to say thanks for letting him out!

Dakota & Benny

This afternoon Benny was zooming around and talking to me with his little tennis ball in his mouth. Kota gave me lots of kisses while I tried to get Benny's collar on! It was a perfect day for a nice long walk. Lots of people were outside in the neighborhood, working on their cars and yards. That kept the pups entertained, watching all the people. One house had a few garbage bags out front that Benny barked at! Kota and Benny were getting pretty tired by the time we were almost home. They were happy to get in to get a drink and cool down!

Buckley, Chloe, Tizzy & JR

This afternoon it didn't seem that their squirrel friend was out. They each took turns coming to sit by me for attention. Then they would run off and as a pack, would bark and zoom off to the other end of the yard. Today a bunch of huge flocks of birds would fly overhead. That kept everyone's attention! JR would run along with them as if he were about to catch one. The other three would just sit and stare up at the sky. Chloe lounged around under the big tree towards the back of the yard. Buckley and JR had some fun chasing and tackling each other! Later, JR wanted to go inside. I let him in and tried to figure out what he wanted. When I went back out by the others, I noticed it had started to rain a little! I guess he knew it was coming. The other three wanted in now too, so we all headed inside. They headed upstairs where Chloe and Tizzy curled up on the couch, and Buckley hid under the desk. I sat on the couch with them for awhile. Tizzy made herself comfy in my lap and got a nice tummy rub! Everyone settled down and eventually were all snoozing away. They got up and ran to their room when it was time for their peanut butter snack!

Dakota & Benny

Benny was zooming around the living room this afternoon with his fancy new haircut! He's all ready for summer now I bet! We got all hooked up and on our way. It was nice and warm out this afternoon, so that meant all Benny's friends were outside. We took a nice long walk today and by the end, Benny was pretty pooped. A man we passed by was admiring how beautiful Kota was and said he had a husky at home too! Once we got home, the pups enjoyed a nice cool drink of fresh water. I gave Kota some ice cubes in her bowl too. They had worked up an appetite and both had a little lunch before it was time to go.

Rasta, Steve, Maggie, Miso & Marshall

This morning as I walked up to the house, I saw Rasta and Maggie both squeezing in to look through the window at me! All three pups met me at the door and gave me a big hello. Marshall was already waiting on the table for his breakfast. Miso joined him shortly after, and started talking to me! Rasta was following me around everywhere, carrying his toy in his mouth. I got the kitties working on their breakfast, then I fed Steve. Maggie and Rasta were right there watching! After Miso had finished, he was trying to get Steve's food too! Marshall got down from the table when he was done, headed into the bedroom and went back to his nap. I fed the big pups next and gave Rasta his meds. Later, Miso and Rasta got lots of attention! Steve had gone outside and Maggie would squeeze in for some pets whenever she could.

Mandy & Aeryn

Both Mandy and Aeryn were waiting for me at the front door when I arrived early this morning! They ran around, turning in circles, excited to go outside. Once outside, Mandy ran around the yard, while Aeryn wandered around, enjoying the warm morning air. Soon, it was back inside to eat breakfast and a yummy treat. Mandy was ready to head back to bed, so I tucked her in. Aeryn then jumped up and joined her sister for a few more hours of sleep! Later that morning, the sun was shining so outside we went! Mandy was still a little sleepy, so she wasn’t ready to play with her toys. The neighbor dog must have heard me say something abouta ball, because soon she brought over her ball and wagged her tail, ready to play! The girls continued to enjoy the beautiful, sunny day. With fresh water and food, they were set! I gave each a bunch of scratches before I left. Thanks for a great time, see you soon!

Caesar

Caesar heard me coming this morning and made his way from his furry blanket to come see me! He meowed at me, then followed me into the kitchen. While he worked on his yummy breakfast I gave him his shot. I knew what he wanted next! After I cleaned his litter box, we went to our spot and he got plenty of attention. He was just purring away! I had some hair ties on my wrist, so we even did a little play time with those. He rolled to his side and batted at them above his head. His little motor was still running the whole time! When it was time, I said goodbye and told him mom and dad would be home soon!

Shelly, Dakota, Buddy, Clover, Mickey, Emma & Junior

This morning I got Dakota leashed up and we all headed outside. It was nice and warm already this morning! Shelly ran around along the fenceline. Dakota still wanted to go to his spot by the fence, but we walked around elsewhere. Buddy was zooming around trying to get everyone to play with him! Dakota and I walked over by the horses to say good morning to them. Junior and Emma both made their way over and let me pet their foreheads for just a second. Junior is such a little cutie! Later Dakota and Shelly wanted to go in, so we did. They got their treats, but Buddy wanted to stay out and explore. I visited with Clover for a little bit, who was sleeping behind the couch again. I just love her big adorable eyes! Back in the kitchen, Dakota and Shelly took advantage of being able to get all the attention with Buddy still outside! Shelly was dancing around by me and coming up to get her side pet. Then, while Dakota was working on breakfast, Shelly rolled over for me and got a belly rub! Dakota and I went back out with Buddy for a bit. Shelly wanted to stay in. Buddy finally got that big branch out of the pile. It was hilarious to watch him carry that around! Then, he came back again and again to get more sticks, as if he was starting his own pile. Silly boy! We all went back in and they got their treats before I left. They will be happy to see their parents come back home today!

Mandy & Aeryn

Mandy and Aeryn met me in the living room early this morning. Even though they were tired, both greeted me with a wagging tail! They then headed for the door, ready to go out. It was a quick potty and then back inside to have breakfast and their morning treat. I snapped a few pictures as they patiently waited for their snack! The morning was a little brisk, so I tucked them back in for a few more hours, so we could let the sun warm us up. A few hours later, I returned to barking dogs waiting at the door! We headed straight for the back door and out we went! We played outside and enjoyed the beautiful morning. The neighbor dog came over with the ball, wanting to share it with the girls! I caught a few cute pictures of the girls playing in the yard before I left for the afternoon. An hour later, I returned to let them in as the thunder sounded and the clouds rolled in. Later that afternoon, we took advantage of the rainy day and played with the stuffing-less toys and the orange ball! At one point, Mandy and Aeryn were playing tug-o-war with the blue animal; it was a blast. Then all three toys were by Aeryn and you could see the dilemma in her eyes and she tried to figure out which toy she was going to choose. We were able to get outside to enjoy some fresh air later in the evening, after enjoying some dinner and fresh water. I tucked them in and said goodnight!

Caesar

This morning Caesar was laying in the same spot that I had left him last night. He got up when I came in and did a big stretch! He followed me into the kitchen and waited for his yummy breakfast. He nibbled away while I gave him his meds. We sat in our spot again and he got lots of attention. He rubbed his head against my knee while I pet him. He would leave every now and again to get another bite to eat. Then later he decided he wanted to curl up in his chair that he's not supposed to sit on! This evening Caesar came walking to me as I came in. There was a constant beeping sound since the power went out, but I figured it out and shut it off. Caesar got his meds, then he worked on his supper for a bit. Afterwards, he walked over to our spot, rolled to his side and waited for me to come pet him! I rubbed his back and pet his head until it was time to go.

Shelly, Dakota, Buddy, Clover, Mickey, Emma & Junior

This morning I let everyone out right away when I got there. Dakota and Buddy were just bouncing around outside! Shelly ran around for a bit too. I let Dakota lead the way around the yard. Little stinker... tried to sneak under the fence with me attached to the other end of his leash! I kept him away from the fence after that! I was talking to Shelly and Buddy must have heard me. All of a sudden, I saw him barreling towards me as fast as he could from the other end of the yard! He's so silly. Later I saw him carrying around a shingle he must have found. We played outside for most of the time this morning. Shelly was doing a little dance by the door and singing to me that she was ready to go in. We all headed in and they got their treats. I took a couple apples out to the horses this morning too. Junior was very curious and came right up to me after I went into the pasture. Emma came to investigate after she saw him crunching away on his snack. She let me pet her for a bit. I gave Mickey his too, but he was a little shy yet. This evening Shelly, Dakota and Buddy were able to spend most of the time outside since the rain had let up. Dakota kept trying to take us over to his spot in the fence and even cried when I wouldn't let him! I noticed a dog at two neighbors down. Maybe he's going to visit a friend? Buddy was running around with sticks and even tried to pull a huge branch out of the burn pile! He was having a blast running around. Shelly ran back and forth along the house a couple times, then sat by the gate and enjoyed the evening air. I went to fill the water trough and visited with the horses a little. No one really wanted to stay by me too long. But, when I walked back toward the hose, I noticed I had a shadow! Little Junior was following me, but would stop if I turned around. So curious! The pups all went inside to have their treats and dinner. I looked around and found Clover sleeping behind the couch! I visited with Clover, who just watched me, then put the pups to bed and gave them their bedtime snack.
