Sophie & Roxy

This morning there was a light dusting of snow on the ground. I let the girls inside to warm up a bit. They had been snuggled in their house. I brought them a bunch of fresh water today and got them some food. The girls both hopped up on the couch with me. Sophie would lay across my lap on her back, with her feet dangling in the air. Then, Roxy would paw at me to pet her. They were up and down and up and down on the couch today. Roxy kept looking around for her lights too. The girls enjoyed a snack, before they snuggled some more.

Gracie, Emma, Molly & the kitties

This morning we had a dusting of snow on the ground. Gracie wasn't crazy about going outside, but she went out first for a quick potty break. While the other girls were out, I got breakfast ready for them. I got them all a yummy cookie to have with their food. When they finished, I let Molly and Emma out again, then Gracie. I cleaned up the extra litter pan today and put it away, since they were only making a big mess of it. This afternoon, Gracie was wiggling happily at the door to see me! Gracie went out quick, then the other two spent a long time in the yard. Gracie crawled under my legs and sat with me, while Henry curled up in my lap for some attention. I got Gracie another treat for her ball, so she was content snacking on that for awhile. Naughty Henry was trying to play with the Christmas tree this afternoon. I had to shoo him away from it! This evening, Gracie went out and did her business. She came in, then the other two went out. While they were busy, I cleaned out the litter boxes. Everyone ate their dinner quick, then I worked on picking up the shrapnel I found. I think it is a collaborative effort between the dogs and cats to find things to play with! I went to visit Micah in the bedroom. He was very happy to have some chin scratches. Henry hopped up there with him for a bit and they both got loved on. I sat with Gracie a bit too. She seems to get more and more excited and has more crazy wiggles every time I see her! As I went around turning lights off tonight, I saw Charlie sitting in the hallway. I stopped to pet him a little too. While I did that, Henry, Micah and Smudge all surrounded me for a few pets as well. I thought in my head that the only one I haven't seen yet, is Mr. Sam. I no more than thought that, and then I saw him emerge from the master bedroom and race upstairs!

Cate, Carson & Bella

We had gotten a light dusting of snow overnight. I let Carson and Cate out for their potty break when I arrived. Cate didn't want to stay out long in the cold! I let her in and got them some water, since their bucket was frozen over. Gracie took her meds and Sassy got her drops, then the girls went out for their turn. Gracie didn't even want to set foot outside this morning! Usually she goes out without me helping her, but today I had to encourage her a bit more. Once they came in, I let the other two out again, since they both had drank all their water.

Gracie, Emma, Molly & the kitties

The cats look like they had themselves a New Year's Eve party last night! They had pulled out cardboard and plastic bottles from the garbage, and had them strewn about the living room. I picked that up, while Molly and Emma were outside. Henry came to visit me and rubbed his head on mine as we waited for them to come back in. Gracie went outside for awhile for her turn. They were ready for their breakfast, and all quickly finished. This afternoon it looked like the dogs took their turn to party! They had shredded a Reader's Digest and had gotten several cat toys and other small objects from somewhere. Gracie helped me pick up the shredded paper. She kept looking at it like I was going to throw it around for her to play with. Haha. We went to the living room, where she snuggled up to me for a bit. She was in a playful mood and grabbed her red squeaky dog to play with. I was going to let her stay outside for the afternoon, since it was nice out. However, they were forecasting a strong cold front was going to come in by late afternoon. Sure enough, it got cold and very windy out! I'm glad I kept her in. When I let Gracie out, she almost didn't even want to go potty, she just wanted back in. Molly and Emma spent awhile out there before dinner. The girls all got a snack before bedtime.

Taz & Clyde

This morning the boys were up and ready to go. They met me at the door when I arrived. I let them have a potty break outside quick. When they came in, they got their breakfast. Afterwards, we got ready for our walk. It was a little cool out this morning, but the boys didn't mind. We walked down by their pond and they sniffed around again. When we got back home, they went outside once more, while I got them some water.

Sophie & Roxy

This afternoon I pulled up and saw that the yard looked like it was starting to dry up some. The girls were snoozing in their house when I got there. They came inside today, since they were dry and not all muddy. They tackled me on the couch. Sophie pinned me down, while Roxy snuck kisses! Sophie was being all crazy, rolling around on the couch, walking across me and turning her head back to sneak kisses. They both plopped down on me for some attention. Roxy kept her eyes open for any red dots or light reflections in the house. Silly girl. Later, I got the ladies each a cookie. They both picked a spot on the rug to enjoy those. When it was time, they got another treat as they headed back outside.

Cate, Carson & Bella

This morning Cate was so excited she was zooming all around the room when I let her out. Once Carson wandered outside, she decided to follow him. They spent awhile out there, so I went to see Bella. She was rubbing up against my legs and random objects. She purred away, while I got her some more food and water. Gracie had finished taking her meds when I returned, so I let her out, while I gave Sassy her drops. They wandered around outside for a few minutes. This evening Cate and Carson took their first potty break outside. A cold front had come through, so it was cold and very windy this evening. Cate didn't spend long out there, before she was ready to come in. Sassy and Gracie went out and did their business, before Cate and Carson went out for their final break.

Jerrie & Kimmie

This morning Kimmie was laying on her tower when I arrived. I brought in the mail and cleaned up their room quick, before I gave Jerrie his medicine. He was lounging on the couch, all snuggled up to a pillow. He took his pill like a good boy and stayed relaxing where he was.

Taz & Clyde

This afternoon I was greeted by wagging tails. I let the boys outside, while I grabbed them a snack. They quickly ate their cookies. Taz was busy smelling all the other pets on me. The boys sure got their exercise in this afternoon! Since it was nice out, a lot of people were out walking their dogs. Several walked by, which had the boys racing from one end to the other to patrol their yard! This evening the boys met met at the door, ready to go. We headed to the garage to get their gear on. Clyde was so happy that he was whining to go! We took a walk down to their spot. Their little sniffers were busy, checking everything out. I totally forgot we were going to hear fireworks tonight. Luckily, the booms came when we were already headed back home. Taz did pretty well. He put his ears back and it was all business to get back home. When we got back they worked on their dinners.

Sophie & Roxy

This afternoon the other neighbor stopped and talked to me. The girls were waiting at the gate, to see if I was coming in. They both met me at the back door. They were still pretty muddy, so we stayed outside again today. It was nice out, so they didn't mind. Sophie went to nibble on some food. I got them some more, and brought along a couple treats with me. It was sunny out, so I was able to use my phone to reflect sunlight on the house. That had Roxy racing around like crazy! Roxy looked all around for that light. She's so funny. Later, I gave the girls a cookie to work on. They got a little beef treat before I left for the day.
