Diesel & Odin

This morning the boys came running up to see me when I pulled up. Since I was having issues closing the gate, I put them in their house and locked them in. After I talked to dad, I went ahead and fed them, to keep them busy while I got the gate closed. I let them out when that was done, and went to break up the ice in their water bucket. Diesel was a thirsty boy! He sat and drank for a bit, while Odin visited with me. Then, they switched. I gave the boys each a treat before I left. They followed me to the gate and Odin started to bark at my car. Haha! This evening the boys came up to the gate to see who was here. The both leaned against me for a few pats, before we headed in for their dinner. Odin chowed down as soon as the kibbles hit his dish. He got his joint medicine again and they each got an after dinner snack. I went to check their water, and it was free of any ice, since it was pretty warm out. The boys went to get a drink because we were over there. Then, they both came over for some attention. I tried to throw a toy around for them, but they just wanted back scratches instead.

Gracie, Molly, Emma & the kitties

This morning Henry met me at the door. Molly came wandering up to me and followed me to let Emma out. The girls went outside for a bit to do their business. I got their breakfast ready for them. When they came in to eat, I leashed Gracie up. We took another short walk this morning, since it was pretty cold out. When we got back, I let her have time in the backyard to go potty. She got to go back in her room when she was done. This afternoon Emma met me at the door. She and Molly were ready to head outside. They spent awhile out there this afternoon, since the sun was shining. Lots of ice chunks are starting to fall from the trees. Henry kept me company while the girls were busy. He wanted some love. Smudge eventually came out to see me as well. She was in a playful mood and was swatting at the strings on my sweatshirt. Next, I went to let Gracie out. To my surprise, she wasn't hiding under the bed this afternoon. I found her laying in the closet. She was still being her scared little self, but she let me slip her collar on. I walked her to the back door and out to the backyard. I let her off the leash so she could go potty. I let her have some time outside as well. She did a little exploring, once she finally left the porch. She came back in later and I got everyone some treats. This evening Emma was right at the door to see me, as usual! She and Molly headed outside for a bit. I cleaned litter boxes and got dinner ready. When Molly and Emma came inside, they went right for their dishes. I gave Molly her pill, then went to see Gracie. This time she was curled up under the bed again. She went out pretty quick for me and spent some time outside. I sat on the stairs and pet Smudge and Henry for awhile. Emma came over for some attention as well. Molly had wandered into the bedroom to snack on the orange treat ball. I had refilled it this morning. When Gracie came in, I put the girls to bed and gave them all a bedtime treat.

Oreo & Stuffy

This evening Oreo met me in the kitchen, as I got their dinner ready. He nibbled a bit. I went to see if Stuffs was sitting in the bedroom again. Sure enough, he was! He was all snuggly, curled up on the bed. I went to say hi and gave him a few pets. I cleaned out their box, then headed to the living room. Oreo came wandering in there to see me. He sat with me for awhile and rubbed his face on me. Eventually, he meandered into the kitchen to snack again. He didn't come back to see me, so I went to see what he was up to. I found him snuggled up in the closet on some shoes or slippers. Guess he was ready for bed!

Gracie, Molly, Emma & the kitties

This morning Emma and Henry came to greet me at the door. I let the older gals out to do their business right away. Henry and Smudge kept me company, sitting on the table next to me for some attention. The girls got their breakfast when they came in. Next, I went to let Gracie out. When I walked in, she was standing in the room, watching me for a minute. Then, she went for safety under the bed. I was able to get her outside pretty quick, with minimal effort. I let her have some time outside, while I cleaned up her accident. I was able to get her back inside when it was time. This afternoon I got her out again after the other two had their turn. let her have a few minutes out there. Then, I got her leash,  just to see what would happen. She wanted to go in, so she stood pretty close. I slowly got up to her and slipped the collar on. Once I did that, she was pretty much attached to me! I took her out front for a short walk. It was pretty chilly out! She walked quite close to me and would look up at me when she was nervous. She did great! When we got back, I wasn't quite ready to set her free. She let me pet on her for a little while. The girls came up and were pretty excited. Emma kept giving Gracie kisses. I took Gracie back to her room and let her go. She was still quite the nervous Nelly, but we made big strides today! This evening Emma and Molly went outside for awhile, as I got their dinner and cleaned litter boxes. I guess Henry just likes to be in whatever box is currently being cleaned! Haha! I had the smaller box clean already, but he decided to hop in the big one as I scooped. He's so silly. Sam came wandering down the stairs to visit again. Smudge was jumping up and trying to swat at my phone to get my attention, as I was getting a pic of him. When the girls came in, I let miss Gracie out. She went out pretty easily again this evening. I gave her some time out there. I actually had to go out and get her when it was time to come in, because I couldn't see her! She came wandering in and headed to her room. She was such a good girl that she even went straight to a kennel. So I tucked her and Emma in this evening. We will see how tomorrow goes!

Sadie, Zoie & Cole

This morning I let Zoie out first when I arrived. She made sure to gather up all her bones first, before she came to the door. She quickly scooped them all up after she got dried off. Next, it was time for Cole and Sadie to go out. When they came in again, I got Cole his medicine and everyone their breakfast. After they finished, we spent some time in the living room. Zoie wanted to play fetch. Sadie sat by me while we did that, and Cole got himself a bone. This afternoon it was snowing out again! I let everyone have their time outside to do their business. Sadie came in and laid down nearby to relax. Zoie worked on chewing on her bones for awhile. When she saw me looking at her, she crammed them all in her mouth and started to run around. Cole came out for some attention too. He would do a big stretch, with his front paws crossed and sitting on my leg. This evening the kiddos all took their turns outside. When they came in, I got them their dinner. Zoie brought all her toys into a pile in the living room. She made sure no one got close! Sadie sat in front of me and snuck as many kisses as she could. She even tackled me once, when I wasn't paying attention! Haha! Eventually, I tucked them all in their beds for the night.

Gracie, Molly, Emma & the kitties

This afternoon I came inside and saw Henry was in the kitchen. Emma came wandering up to say hi, with Molly along behind her. I let those two outside for a little bit. Smudge and Henry were instantly following me around everywhere. Once the girls were back in, I went to go see Gracie. Henry didn't like me being in there without him, so he kept sticking his paws under the door. Haha! Gracie was hiding under the bed. I talked to her for a little bit, but she just sat there and shivered. Poor scared little girl! I went to the kitchen to get some treats, to see if that would do the trick. Molly and Emma happily took theirs! Gracie still wouldn't come out, so I just let her be, so she could relax. We will try again tonight. Henry kept trying to sneak in there every time I opened the door. Silly boy. I spent some time petting the kitties, since they were craving the attention. This evening I let the ladies outside quick, while I got dinner ready for them. I scooped litter boxes next. Henry kindly decided to hop into the one I was currently scooping to go potty. Haha. I fed the pups their dinner and gave Molly her rimadyl. I went in to see Gracie to feed her. She still wouldn't come out for me. I tried hard to get her out, but she just didn't want to! I even brought the girls in to see if that would give her some courage. Nope. Well... I will be there bright and early to get her out in the morning. When I walked out of the room, I saw Sam was sitting on the stairs. He peeked his head through the railing to sniff at me. He, Henry and Smudge were all sitting there watching me! I pet them awhile, then told everyone good night.

Oreo & Stuffy

Tonight I came in and saw the awesome gift mom left! You're the best!! I got the boys their food, then went to see where they were. They were both all curled up on mom and dad's bed. I said hi to them for a bit. Oreo was seeming to be in a sassy mood. Haha! I went to clean their box quick. Oreo came out and had a bite to eat, then joined me in the living room. He went to the corner by the tree and just sat there. I think he was looking at the shadow on the wall from the plug dangling. It was moving slightly from the heat coming through the vent. I put it up once I saw him trying to mouth it. Naughty kitty... I was looking through their toys for something to get his attention. I found it! The laser light in there had him racing around the living room like a crazy cat! That gave me a good laugh.

Sadie, Zoie & Cole

This morning there was a light dusting of snow on top of all the ice. I let Zoie out first. She came in and went straight for her toys, while I let the other two out. Cole still didn't want to go out on the crunchy grass, and took a long time to figure out where he wanted to try. He eventually made his way out and did his business. Everyone got their breakfast, and they all finished pretty quick this morning. Zoie was crying at me for awhile, wanting me to play. She then brought her frisbee over and pushed it down on top of my hand. "Here ya go!" Cole came over for his heiny scratches. This afternoon the pups each took their turn outside. Cole was much quicker to hop on the grass this time. When they all came in and got dried off, we went to sit in the living room. Cole even laid down and chewed on a bone along with Zoie. Sadie just sat and pawed at me, wanting her pets. In return, I'd get plenty of kisses. Later, the girls were busy messing around and chasing each other. This evening the kiddos went out to do their business. Back inside, they quickly ate their dinners. All three joined me in the living room afterwards. Cole was in a playful mood! He bravely grabbed a bone that was sitting by Zoie. She was busy gnawing on a different one. Once he had it, he threw it to the ground and jumped on it with his front paws! He tossed it around. I bounced a ball for him too, which he chased around. Sadie rolled around on the floor, being a spunky girl too! When it was time, I tucked them all in their beds.

RJ, Chipper, Keaton & Daisy

This morning everything was covered in a sheet of ice. The boys followed me as I carried Daisy outside. She did her business, then made an attempt to run around. Something felt funny though... the grass was too crunchy! We came inside and Daisy hopped on the couch. She ran to the end and bounced excitedly, waiting for me to join her. Chipper hopped on the chair and Keaton on the couch with us, then both boys started rolling around and were being silly! They both were grumbling as they itched their backs. Miss Daisy stayed snuggled up against me, under my arm. She's so sweet! RJ came up and curled up on the other side of me for awhile. Everyone settled and relaxed awhile, as we warmed up. Later, we went outside again. The boys were trying to chase after the birds this morning. I made sure to break off the ice and give them some food too, since they were hanging around the patio. Inside, I made sure the pups had plenty of food and water, then gave Keaton his meds.

Sadie, Zoie & Cole

This morning everything was all iced over. I let Sadie and Zoie out front and Cole out back when I arrived. Cole didn't want to walk on the crunchy grass. He eventually went on there, just far enough to do his business. When they came in I fed them their breakfast and gave Cole his meds. They all ate pretty quick. Zoie brought me her Frisbee and we played a little fetch. Sadie sat by me and was being goofy. She rolled on the floor and pawed at me, then grumbled. I went to check on Cole, since he wasn't out by us. He was just hanging out in the bedroom. When I walked in, he went and excitedly stood up against the bed, wanting to go up. This afternoon the pups each took their turns out in the ice-covered grass. They came in and warmed up. Zoie made sure to collect all her toys. She crammed all three bones in her mouth, then piled them on top of her frisbee. She's so funny! Cole came over for some heiny scratches, before he wandered off to the bedroom again. This evening I had three excited pups in the laundry room to greet me! I let Sadie out front first, and had Cole go out back. He sure didn't want to touch the grass tonight. He kept putting a foot out, then would turn back and try elsewhere, hoping it would feel different. Sadie was still exploring out front, so I sent Zoie out back to help encourage Cole. Once she went out, he hopped right in the grass and did his thing. When everyone came in and dried off, I got them their dinners. We spent some time in the living room before they went to bed.
